The Dog Days of Fishing

Dzifa and I snuck away over the 4th of July for a quick trip with our friends Maren and Ben. We might of been crazy to bring our two dogs along with Maren's dog. It ended up being a great time. Here are a few photographs of our dogs. I am sure you can guess which one is "his and hers." My dog, Ayla, is 2.5 pounds and gaurded my camera bag while I was fishing. Faust, Dzifa's dog is harder to take fishing because he likes to swim more then anything. : ) I brought my camera along to photograph Dzifa fishing. He is working on a website for Colorado fishermen and needs photos of just about everything fly fishing related. We got a lot of great shots for him to choose from. The photo of the fish with the dry fly is just for a detail shot to go on his site. After the picture the fish was sent back swimming.

A Little Mountain Escape

It isn't very often I have a weekend off during the summer. As it turns out I had this past weekend off, so I decided to escape to the mountains with Dzifa, Peggy and my Dad. We were also in the mountains during my dad's 66th birthday. We had planned to be in the mountains for four days, but the weather gods had different plans. Our first two days were beautiful with only patches of rain. During the 2nd night the rain clouds rolled in for good. After sitting in our tent for most of Saturday we decided to pack it in and head home.

The photo-ops were everywhere up there. I am so lucky that Dzifa enjoys taking pictures like I do. He took some great shots with his camera too. There were wild flowers in bloom all over the mountain. I did a few landscape shots, but mostly stuck with a macro and photographed the flowers. I will post a few more photos later, but here are a few of my favorites.

I forgot to mention our fishing contests. Everyday we were up there we had a contest of who caught the first fish of the day, the most fish and the biggest fish. It was a fun way to keep it interesting. It wouldn't be as fun if I didn't show you a slideshow!

Seth and Caitlin's Wedding on the Farm

Wow, what a new approach to my wedding photography. Seth and Caitlin both work on a farm in Loveland, CO. They had the coolest wedding at the farm. I couldn't stop shooting! They had a horse drawn carriage, a seed ceremony and the most incredible setting. When Caitlin started telling me about their unique approach to their wedding, I couldn't wait to photograph it. Take the time to look at their slideshow. You will see how enchanting this place was.

Dan and Kristie's Engagement Session

I love doing engagement portraits. It gives me and my bride and groom the chance to get to know one another. I found out so much about Dan and Kristie during our session. They were super cute and adorable to work with. Dan would try not to smile too much and then Kristie would get him laughing. I am looking forward to their wedding in August. Here is the link to their slideshow.

Jake and Jessica's Wedding

I love when I shoot a wedding and everything is perfect. From the dress, weather, scenery to the most adorable couple I couldn't go wrong. Jake and Jessica were so easy to photograph. I couldn't wait to put together thier slideshow and send it to them. They had every last detail pinned down. They even had their names on their M&M's! Too fun.

E-Pics of Gregg and Katie

Here are a few photographs of Gregg and Katie's engagement portrait. Gregg and Katie are so down to earth and easy going. Although being in front of the camera isn't his favorite past time, Gregg did great. Sometimes people are easier to photograph then they think. : ) Check out their slideshow too.

Tom and Amanda

Tom and Amanda got married in a incredible church out in Watkins, Colorado. I hadn't ever been to Watkins before, but I was blown away by the beauty of this church. Tom and Amanda had one of the coolest "get-away" cars I had ever photographed. As you can see in their slideshow it was great for photos.

Kelly and Tracy's Wedding

Up near Pine, Colorado there is one of Colorado's best kept secrets. It is a sweet little bed and breakfast called Meadow Creek Bed and Breakfast. Loren and Ivan Fuentes are a husband and wife team that own and opperate the b&b. Kelly and Tracy chose this cozy place to have their wedding. I always enjoy photographing up in the mountains. I loved how Tracy got the giggles during the ceremony while Kelly was trying to remember what to say next and how Kelly's brother kept getting choked up during his toast. Those are fun memories to look back on. If you want to see a slideshow of their wedding click here.

My Sister's Graduation

Over Memorial day weekend I flew out to Chatham for my little sister's graduation. I am so proud of how well my sister, Jacquie has done over the past four years at Chatham. She sang a solo with her sextet at her graduation. You can see by the photographs that the school grounds are spectacular. I put together a slideshow of the graduation weekend.

Sara and Craig's Engagement

One of my closest friends, Sara, is getting married this September. I had so much fun photographing Sara and Craig's engagment portrait. We bounced all over downtown Denver. I think Sara and I could of shot all night, but Craig wrangled us in and made us stop for dinner. I won't be photographing their wedding because I will be in it instead. I am looking forward to spending a weekend in Copper Mountain for their wedding. Check out their slideshow.

Bobby and Antonella's Wedding

I don't even know where to begin. Bobby and Antonella met in NY and started dating 15 years ago. They moved to Colorado to embark on a new journey together. They decided to have wedding in late spring at the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary doesn't have one bad place to to take a photograph, it is gorgeous! I also got to work with Bill Carson from A#1 Mobile DJ again. Working with Bobby and Antonella has been incredbile. Photographing a couple that has such a deep connection shows in every image. They made my job seem so easy. Check out their slideshow and you will know what I mean.

Charity Event at Ocean

I just photographed a event for an amazing foundation. The name of the charity is the American Transplant Foundation. It was a really great group of people all supporting the same cause. If you haven't heard of this foundation, I strongly suggest looking into what they are all about. Everyone that attended the event was able to get a sneak peak at the brand new restaurant Ocean in Cherry Creek. Ocean's grand opening was two days after this event. I thought the service and food was remarkable. A lot of well known people were there to contribute to the American Transplant Foundation.

Denver PUG (Pictage Users Group)

I haven't mentioned our Denver PUG (Pictage Users Group) on my blog. Once a month a great group of photographers meet at my studio to discuss the what is happening in our industry. Most if not all of the photographers are partners with Pictage. It has been a good way for everyone to stay on top of the constantly changing industry and to keep ourselves creatively challenged too. Here is a photograph from one of our meetings. You won't find me in this one because I am behind the camera. : ) If you are a photographer interested in coming to our PUG checkout this website.

Shane and Veronica

I have been looking forward to sharing Shane and Veronica's wedding photographs. It is so easy to see how in love and happy they are. I don't think there was one moment during the entire day that they weren't both smiling. Their wedding had a perfect setting at Grant Humphries Mansion. They chose Whirled Peas Catering and Occasions to Remember as their wedding coordinator. Everyone helped in making Shane and Veronica's day perfect. Enjoy looking at their slideshow.

My New Office

A few weeks ago I purchased a new office space. It was a diamond in the rough to start, but it is really coming along. I wanted to show a few photographs of us working on it. My stepdad and boyfriend Dzifa helped me install the hardwood floors. They have really helped me turn this place into a beautiful place to work. Keep checking back to see the before and after photographs.

Stuart and Darlene's Wedding

I was lucky enough to photograph my good friend Darlene's wedding. Here is a quick photograph of the two of us at the reception. Darlene and Stuart were so wonderful to work with. We had perfect weather and a clear shot of the mountains. I am excited to share their images with you. Click here to view their slideshow stuartdarlene.
