Stacey and Dave's Wedding

Somehow I have been able to work my way around the ever-changing weather in Colorado. Stacey and Dave's wedding is a perfect example. I woke up and looked outside only to see that it was pouring rain and dark clouds in every direction. The wedding was a morning wedding so not a lot of time to let things clear up. As I was on my way to Hudson Gardens the sky began to clear. By the time they began setting up for the wedding it was a beautiful Colorado day. Just as I was leaving the reception it started to pour rain again. What luck! Stacey and Dave were so much fun to photograph. They had the most natural smiles and they showed such sweet compasion for one another. Here are a few of my favorites from the wedding day. If you want to see more check out their slideshow.

A Perfect Day In Paradise

I had such a great time photographing Jim and Courtney's wedding. As I was driving up to Estes Park it was dreary and overcast outside. Right before I dropped into Estes Park the clouds lifted and blue skies prevailed. We lucked out with having great weather and a picture perfect ceremony. It was really neat to see the softspot Jim has for Courtney. I think it shows in the pictures with him. Some of my favorite photographs were when they were trying to be serious and then would burst out in laughter. The Taharaa Mountain Lodge is a great place to have a wedding. If you want to see more, don't forget to check out their slideshow.

Portraits on the Beach

During my vacation to Cape Cod I did a little work too. It was so wonderful mixing up the scenery and trying something new. There aren't too many beaches here in Denver. Here are four different family portraits that I did. I loved having the opportunity to photograph good friends. Everyone that is in these pictures has been coming to Cape Cod for years. I am lucky to have been able to join in the tradition for the past 3 years. Thanks again for making this such a memorable trip, I am looking forward to next year. Check out Anne and Marks family in this slideshow. Good times and great memories!! Best Wishes- Katie

Senior Portraits

We are just winding down from the busy season of senior portraits. I thought I would put a few images up of a session I had last week. The girls in these photographs are my cousins. While I was photographing them I started feeling so old. I remember when they were born. Where does the time go? Tara and Courtney are twins and look so cute in pictures together because they both have their own unique look. I am hoping to post a slideshow up of them later this week. Girls it was so great spending time with you, I will see you soon. Have a blast during your senior year. Best Wishes - Katie

The Next Best Thing to Family

Here is our Cape Cod family. There are so many wonderful people and families that come here year after year. This year we have been doing theme nights to our potluck dinners. We have had Italian, Mexican and tonight is an American themed dinner. Here are some of last nights photos. We just got back from water skiing this afternoon. While we were on the boat we saw two pods of dolphins, a seal and tons of jelly fish (the friendly kind).
Fun shot of a bird on the beach.

Good times with the "family."
The name of the place we stay is called Linger Longer By The Sea. Here is what it looks like at sunset.

A Perfect Sunset in Cape Cod

I am out in Cape Cod for my 3rd annual vacation. Dzifa has been coming here for 12 years and I am joining in the tradition. We have about 30 people that have been doing the same thing. We have pot luck dinners every night and then we all walk to the beach for the sunset. Here are some photos from my first night that I was here. I will try to post more as the week goes on.

David Jay comes to our Denver PUG!!

Here is a shot we took later in the evening of most of the group.
Sara, DJ and me.
Sara, Emily and me.

For all of my fellow photographers, I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone for coming to our Denver PUG meeting. We had such a great turn out 50+ people! David Jay put a lot into his seminar and took a lot of time to make it something great for everyone. I think we also have to thank Pictage for really making it possible. Don't forget to check out DJ's programs, Showit Web and Showit Effects. I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting a lot of new people too. I was so glad my good friend Sara France was able to make it out to CO for my live forum and for DJ's seminar. It was a whirlwind day, but such a great time.

Molly and Fred's Wedding

Molly and Fred were such a classic couple. They got married at the Immaculate Conception, but chose to do a lot of their photographs at the Oxford Hotel. I thought the rooms were beautiful for the portraits of them. I also loved the way they looked in Sepia, it made them look timeless. I had a great time working with Michelle from Nancy Chase Weddings and Celebrations along with Denise Capelli with Capelli Floral. They helped in making the event spectacular. If you want to see more from their wedding check out their slideshow.

Joslyn and Jayson's Wedding

Joslyn and Jayson's wedding was at the Cheyanne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. The setting is breath taking. I can see why they chose to have their destination wedding there. Jayson was a groomsmen in a wedding I photographed two years ago. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to work with them. Joslyn and Jayson are so in love and it shows in every photograph. Joslyn has the most enlightening smile. When she laughs and smiles she lights up the entire room. It is obvious to see why Jayson loves her like he does. Their slideshow is incredible, don't forget to check it out.

Steve and Tara's Downtown Adventure

Steve and Tara were so much fun during their engagement portraits. I am really looking forward to their wedding in September. They are both so laid back and easy going. At one point Steve cracked me up because he couldn't stop laughing. Here is a slideshow of thier engagement portrait downtown.

Gregg and Katie's Mountain Wedding

Gregg and Katie had it all on their wedding day. They had sunshine, rain, lightening and a lot of love. They had their wedding at Keystone Resort at the top of the mountain. The atmosphere and scenery were spectacular. We had quite a bit of rain and then the sky cleared just in time for the ceremony and photographs. Just as we were finishing up the photographs the raindrops re-appeared only to stop again for a incredible sunset. I always love the gondola ride up and down the mountain. It makes me realize how lucky I am to live in Colorado. I think all of Gregg and Katie's guests enjoyed it too. Take a look at their slideshow to see what I am talking about.

Fred and Molly's Engagement Photographs

Fred and Molly just did their engagement session for their upcoming wedding on July 29th. Not only were they picture perfect, but so was their dog Zeus! I think he smiled in every photograph too. I put together a little slideshow of their session. I am looking forward to their wedding at the Immaculate Conception. That church is amazing for photographs.

Jackson- Atchley Wedding

Sara and Darrell were so organized for their wedding. They thought of every little detail and then some. With so much thought put into their wedding day it was absolutely beautiful. There were so many great moments and memories. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard during a bestmans toast. Sara and Darrell's bestman told some very enlightening and extremely funny stories. I think everyone in the room learned a few new things about them. Please check out their slideshow.

Jon and Heather Chipman

Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking about my clients and how blessed I have been to work with such great people. Jon and Heather have become more like friends over the past year of working with them. They are both originally from Colorado, but now reside in Chicago. They found my online and I am so happy they did. They are such a fun-loving couple. Don't forget to check out their slideshow.

Birdhaus Bash

We just went to our 2nd annual Birdhaus Bash! For the last two years Dzifa, my mom, Jerry (my step-dad), Toni (Dzifa's mom), Derick (Dzifa's dad) and I all joined a group of our friends at the Botanic Gardens for the Birdhaus Bash. This is a silent auction that raises money for charity. Anyone can build and design their own style of a bird house that is donated to the auction. Dzifa and I both built bird houses and had a little competition to see who's bird house went for the most money. Dzifa's bird house sold for $260! Needless to say he beat me pretty good, I thought mine was going great for $40 until I saw his bid sheet. What a fun night of family, friends and bird houses.
