Morgan Adams Foundation

It has been some time since I have talked about something that is near and dear to my heart. A year and a half ago I photographed Ariana, a little girl with brain cancer. Sadly she passed away a few months after our session. What she taught me in her short time here on earth was a life long lesson. Live each day to it's fullest because tomorrow is a gift not a guarantee. Hold the ones you care about close to your heart. Never forget to say I love you. Do things to make others smile. Dance like no one is watching. Have compassion for everyone.

I have built a relationship with Ariana's mother, April. I am connected to her in ways I can't quite explain. Our journey in life isn't always clear, but I strongly believe everything happens for a reason. Since Ariana's passing I have had the opportunity to go to a few events for the Morgan Adams Foundation. This is a charity that raises money for research for children with cancer. They do an annual breakfast/fundraiser called "What's Up Doc?" They held the event at the Seawell Grand Ballroom. A few doctors from Childerens Hospital came to talk about the research that is currently being done, how far we have come and how far we still need to go.

Ian & Heather's Wedding At Arrowhead

What do you get when you mix sunshine, red rocks, a laid back couple and a few deer? A spectacular wedding at Arrowhead Golf Course. Heather and Ian could possibly be one of the most laid back couples I have ever photographed. They had this underlying sense of calm and serenity between them. I love afternoon weddings. Their ceremony was at 11am before the heat of the day really kicked in. We even had some deer come out to see what was happening on the course. Ian completely surprised Heather with a diamond band for her wedding band. She was expecting a different ring that they had picked out. The look of surprise on her face when he slipped it on her finger was priceless. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the day.

Sarah & Rick's Tied the Knot

I knew May 17th was going to be a good day. Not only was it my 29th birthday, but it was Sarah and Rick's wedding! I was hired to shoot for 12 hours. It was SO much fun! I started with the girls getting ready and finished at the Hotel Monoco as they left on a horse drawn carriage. Sarah and Rick got married at the Sanctuary on a gorgeous day.

Nathan and Megan's Big Day

Nate and Megan are from the windy city of Chicago. It was fitting that the wind was relentless on their wedding day. You would have never known the wind was a challenge. They made every photo look great. There wedding was at the Sanctuary. I loved the sparkler send off. Here is a slideshow with more photos from the day.

I have been working on a new sample album of Chris and Sharla. I came across this image and I had to share it with you. There is something about this that I am drawn to. It could be the passion that the two of them have for each other. Chris told Sharla that he loved her in the 8th grade under their friends tree. He said his love for her has only grown stronger since. To be in love and to find love is one of lifes greatest gifts.
