Ian & Heather's Wedding At Arrowhead

What do you get when you mix sunshine, red rocks, a laid back couple and a few deer? A spectacular wedding at Arrowhead Golf Course. Heather and Ian could possibly be one of the most laid back couples I have ever photographed. They had this underlying sense of calm and serenity between them. I love afternoon weddings. Their ceremony was at 11am before the heat of the day really kicked in. We even had some deer come out to see what was happening on the course. Ian completely surprised Heather with a diamond band for her wedding band. She was expecting a different ring that they had picked out. The look of surprise on her face when he slipped it on her finger was priceless. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the day.

Check out the deer in the background.

What a view!! She just noticed that he slipped a surprise ring on her finger.

Sarah & Rick's Tied the Knot

I knew May 17th was going to be a good day. Not only was it my 29th birthday, but it was Sarah and Rick's wedding! I was hired to shoot for 12 hours. It was SO much fun! I started with the girls getting ready and finished at the Hotel Monoco as they left on a horse drawn carriage. Sarah and Rick got married at the Sanctuary on a gorgeous day.

Nathan and Megan's Big Day

Nate and Megan are from the windy city of Chicago. It was fitting that the wind was relentless on their wedding day. You would have never known the wind was a challenge. They made every photo look great. There wedding was at the Sanctuary. I loved the sparkler send off. Here is a slideshow with more photos from the day.

I have been working on a new sample album of Chris and Sharla. I came across this image and I had to share it with you. There is something about this that I am drawn to. It could be the passion that the two of them have for each other. Chris told Sharla that he loved her in the 8th grade under their friends tree. He said his love for her has only grown stronger since. To be in love and to find love is one of lifes greatest gifts.

Snow Day!!

The past few months I have been on stand by for any day it snows. The tricky part is when it snowed it had to match up with Sarah, Rick and my schedules. At last we had a snowy day in April that worked for all of us. We planned a fun filled outing in the snow. Sarah and Rick really wanted to have a snow scene as the setting for their engagement session. I loved how adventurous they were.
Can you feel the love?
They managed to look cuddly and warm in the freezing cold.

This might just be my favorite... It reminds me of a snowy day in New York.

Nuggets and Lakers Playoff Game

There is nothing quite like cheering on your home team from the second row... That is unless they lose. :( I still had a blast watching the last play off game for the Nuggets. I don't usually bring my "big" camera to the games. Mostly because I didn't think they would allow me to. I decided that it was worth a try to bring it. I was almost declined at the door. I was told that my 5D and my 70-200 lens were borderline for being allowed in without a press pass. Some how luck was on my side and I was able to shoot during the entire game. Our seats are behind the visitors bench. So although I love the Nuggets I had a lot more opportunities to photograph the Lakers. The game begins!

The Temptations played at half time.

Salt Lake City

I can't think of a time that I ever flew in and out of a city in under 24 hours. I guess my last trip to Salt Lake City would make it my first under 24 hour trip ever. I flew out to SLC to hang out with the SLC PUG (Pictage Users Group). They had an awesome turn out for the meeting. It could be because they had Justin and Mary Murantz in town to speak. Justin and Mary are so motivating. They gave me some great ideas for my business too! Davina Fear is the PUG leader. She is a very well known name in SLC.

Here is a cool shot of both of them while they were doing their presentation.

Nuggets

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to a Nuggets game with Ann Marlin from Nancy Chase Weddings and Celebrations. It was fun to have a chance to catch up before the wedding season takes off. We normally are so busy during a wedding it is hard to find the time to chat. Ann is not only an incredible wedding planner, but she also has an invitation company called Pampered Papers. Here are a few shots from the game. We are so lucky we got to steal Dzifa's tickets for the night. We were 2 rows behind the visitors bench. It is crazy to see how tall the players are. When you watch them on T.V. it just doesn't do them justice. I always wonder where they buy their clothes at or if everything they wear are custom tailored.

Andrea & Luis Tied the Knot

My friends are married! On March 22nd Andrea and Luis tied the knot. They shared a very intimate ceremony with family and friends at City Park. Of course I don't know how to go any where without my camera. Andrea has been a friend, business associate and my dancing partner for over 5 years. She is the kind of person that would be there any time and any place to help another person out. She is someone that when you meet her you instantly feel a connection because she is genuine. Luckily she found Luis, a man that shares similar qualities. I am so happy for you two!
