I'm Engaged!!

I wanted to share the good news with all of you. As most of you know Dzifa and I have been dating for the last three years. We went up to Breck for a quick getaway before the holiday rush. After a relaxing day at the spa we went to dinner and he popped the question. We barely ate dinner because we were so excited. I can't wait to marry Dzifa, he is the most incredible man. I wonder how I got so lucky? It will be quite an experience to be on the other side of the camera! We don't have any official plans, but we are thinking it will be a destination wedding sometime in January 2008.
Here is a photo just a few minutes after he proposed.
Here is a photograph of us the next morning.
Here is one of us at the Nuggets game!

Tis The Season To Get Married

I have never seen a winter wedding like Pat and Lissa's. The decorations were elegant, classic and festive. Although it was freezing cold outside we were still able to capture some great shots! I have soo many favorite photographs from their wedding. You will have to view their slideshow to see all of them. I have known Pat since elementary school. It was a great gift to be able to photograph his wedding 22 years after kindergarten. The dancing at the end of the night was out of control. Ok not really, but it was obvious the group knew how to have fun. Pat and Lissa I can't wait to catch up with you once you are back from your honeymoon. Thank you for being who you are and for giving me so many great opportunities to get incredible photographs!
Best Wishes-

This little girl needs your prayers

This week I was fortunate enough to photograph a family that is in need of a miracle. Paul and April's daughter, Ariana, is just four years old. She has been diagnosed with Brain Stem Glioma (an inoperable brain tumor). Just a few weeks ago Ariana's doctor gave the family devastating news, she has 4-6 weeks to live. The family has incredible faith and a positive outlook on the future.
It was the biggest honor of my life to be invited into their home to photograph "a day in a life at the Samaras house."

This family is just like yours and mine. They laugh together, they play with one another and the share an incredible love for family. They have two boys that are 6 and 9 years old. They are doing all they can to be able to pay the medical bills and support their family. If you are planning on giving to any charity this holiday season please consider the Samaras family. If you would like more information go to Ariana's website.

This slideshow I put together is just a glimpse of their lives at home. Please help us pray for the miracle Ariana deserves.

E-Pics at Laguna Beach With Alison and Jason

I think I am at that age where all of my closest friends are getting marrried. I have already added some of my engaged friends to my blog and now it's time to add Ali and Jason. I am truly blessed to not only have Ali as family (she's my cousin), but I also have her as my best friend. Ali is the most loyal, honest, hilarious and loving friend I could ask for. She has been fortunate in finding a man like Jason. I think you can tell by these photographs they are in love from the inside out. My friend Jaime and I did Ali and Jason's engagement session at Laguna Beach in CA. We were in a race for sunlight, but made it just in time to get some pretty incredible photographs. I hope you enjoy their slideshow as much as I enjoyed taking the pictures! Ali and Jas, congrats! I can't wait for the big day.

Patrick and Lissa

Patrick and Lissa are getting married in December. We really wanted to get the fall colors when they were in full effect. I think we planned it just right. Even their dog was a perfect model. I went to high school with Patrick and when I met Lissa for the first time I saw so many wonderful qualities in her. No wonder Patrick fell in love with her! I am very excited for their wedding in December. I love the holiday season and add a wedding in the mix, I am in heaven! Patrick and Lissa I will see you in a month. I almost forgot to give you the link to their slideshow. Enjoy!

Sara and Craigs Wedding

My good friends Sara and Craig got married up in Copper Mountain. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding. I didn't do all of the photography, but of course I couldn't leave my camera at home. :) These were some of my favorite images of Sara and Craig. I will post some photographs from their rehearsal dinner in a little while. I know it looks very sunny and nice in these pictures, but believe me it was freezing outside. It was 32 degrees with snow blowing in and out throughout the day. Dzifa and I had a great time dancing the night away with all of the guests at the wedding. I love dancing, so it was a lot of fun to be able to let loose.

Wedded Bliss In The City

Words can't describe how beautiful and elegant Sarah and Brad's wedding was. They had a wedding with 200 guests at the University Club. The University Club miraculously changed over the room from ceremony to a pure elegant dining experience in one hour! Every ounce of detail and thought put into the planning showed with their wedding. We had great weather and fall colors to add to the mix. What a perfect day with a great couple. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to talk about Brad and the best man Steve's "special dance" for everyone at the reception. It was quite a sight to see. I will try to post some of those pictures soon. In the meantime enjoy the slideshow.

Ian and Tracy's Wedding

If you haven't been to Devils Thumb Ranch I suggest you do. Ian and Tracy had their wedding at the Devils Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, CO. They did a incredible job at planning every little detail. I thought Liz with Fleur De Liz (florist) and Carolyn French (wedding planner) made the day perfect. There were a lot of toasts given at the wedding. I loved hearing the sentimental stories as well as the hilarious ones. Ian and Tracy I had the best time meeting your family and friends. I hope you are having a great trip in Italy! I think it's fabulous you are taking a three week honeymoon. Here is a slideshow of some of my favorites from your wedding.

My Best Friend Is Getting Married!

My best friend of 25+ years is getting married next summer! Maren, Ben, Dzifa and I headed up to the mountains to do their engagement portrait. We hit the perfect weekend in the mountains for the changing of the leaves. Most of the leaves were bright yellow. It looks pretty warm in the pictures, but believe me it wasn't as warm as it looks. Maren and Ben were willing to bear the cold for some great photographs. Maren and Ben I can't wait to be in your wedding next summer! Here is a sneak peak at their slideshow.

Stacey and Dave's Wedding

Somehow I have been able to work my way around the ever-changing weather in Colorado. Stacey and Dave's wedding is a perfect example. I woke up and looked outside only to see that it was pouring rain and dark clouds in every direction. The wedding was a morning wedding so not a lot of time to let things clear up. As I was on my way to Hudson Gardens the sky began to clear. By the time they began setting up for the wedding it was a beautiful Colorado day. Just as I was leaving the reception it started to pour rain again. What luck! Stacey and Dave were so much fun to photograph. They had the most natural smiles and they showed such sweet compasion for one another. Here are a few of my favorites from the wedding day. If you want to see more check out their slideshow.

A Perfect Day In Paradise

I had such a great time photographing Jim and Courtney's wedding. As I was driving up to Estes Park it was dreary and overcast outside. Right before I dropped into Estes Park the clouds lifted and blue skies prevailed. We lucked out with having great weather and a picture perfect ceremony. It was really neat to see the softspot Jim has for Courtney. I think it shows in the pictures with him. Some of my favorite photographs were when they were trying to be serious and then would burst out in laughter. The Taharaa Mountain Lodge is a great place to have a wedding. If you want to see more, don't forget to check out their slideshow.

Portraits on the Beach

During my vacation to Cape Cod I did a little work too. It was so wonderful mixing up the scenery and trying something new. There aren't too many beaches here in Denver. Here are four different family portraits that I did. I loved having the opportunity to photograph good friends. Everyone that is in these pictures has been coming to Cape Cod for years. I am lucky to have been able to join in the tradition for the past 3 years. Thanks again for making this such a memorable trip, I am looking forward to next year. Check out Anne and Marks family in this slideshow. Good times and great memories!! Best Wishes- Katie

Senior Portraits

We are just winding down from the busy season of senior portraits. I thought I would put a few images up of a session I had last week. The girls in these photographs are my cousins. While I was photographing them I started feeling so old. I remember when they were born. Where does the time go? Tara and Courtney are twins and look so cute in pictures together because they both have their own unique look. I am hoping to post a slideshow up of them later this week. Girls it was so great spending time with you, I will see you soon. Have a blast during your senior year. Best Wishes - Katie

The Next Best Thing to Family

Here is our Cape Cod family. There are so many wonderful people and families that come here year after year. This year we have been doing theme nights to our potluck dinners. We have had Italian, Mexican and tonight is an American themed dinner. Here are some of last nights photos. We just got back from water skiing this afternoon. While we were on the boat we saw two pods of dolphins, a seal and tons of jelly fish (the friendly kind).
Fun shot of a bird on the beach.

Good times with the "family."
The name of the place we stay is called Linger Longer By The Sea. Here is what it looks like at sunset.
Dzifa and I soaking in the last few rays of the day!
