I'm Engaged!!

I wanted to share the good news with all of you. As most of you know Dzifa and I have been dating for the last three years. We went up to Breck for a quick getaway before the holiday rush. After a relaxing day at the spa we went to dinner and he popped the question. We barely ate dinner because we were so excited. I can't wait to marry Dzifa, he is the most incredible man. I wonder how I got so lucky? It will be quite an experience to be on the other side of the camera! We don't have any official plans, but we are thinking it will be a destination wedding sometime in January 2008.
Here is a photo just a few minutes after he proposed.
Here is a photograph of us the next morning.
Here is one of us at the Nuggets game!

Tis The Season To Get Married

I have never seen a winter wedding like Pat and Lissa's. The decorations were elegant, classic and festive. Although it was freezing cold outside we were still able to capture some great shots! I have soo many favorite photographs from their wedding. You will have to view their slideshow to see all of them. I have known Pat since elementary school. It was a great gift to be able to photograph his wedding 22 years after kindergarten. The dancing at the end of the night was out of control. Ok not really, but it was obvious the group knew how to have fun. Pat and Lissa I can't wait to catch up with you once you are back from your honeymoon. Thank you for being who you are and for giving me so many great opportunities to get incredible photographs!
Best Wishes-
Katie

This little girl needs your prayers

This week I was fortunate enough to photograph a family that is in need of a miracle. Paul and April's daughter, Ariana, is just four years old. She has been diagnosed with Brain Stem Glioma (an inoperable brain tumor). Just a few weeks ago Ariana's doctor gave the family devastating news, she has 4-6 weeks to live. The family has incredible faith and a positive outlook on the future.
It was the biggest honor of my life to be invited into their home to photograph "a day in a life at the Samaras house."

This family is just like yours and mine. They laugh together, they play with one another and the share an incredible love for family. They have two boys that are 6 and 9 years old. They are doing all they can to be able to pay the medical bills and support their family. If you are planning on giving to any charity this holiday season please consider the Samaras family. If you would like more information go to Ariana's website.

This slideshow I put together is just a glimpse of their lives at home. Please help us pray for the miracle Ariana deserves.
